17 Aug Enminube Parapente and Vuelo Semilla Bring Adapted Paragliding to Tenerife
Enminube Parapente, a tandem paragliding company in the north of Tenerife, has formalized a partnership with Vuelo Semilla, the Argentine adapted and inclusive paragliding initiative born in Patagonia. Thanks to this agreement, Tenerife joins the network of flying sites that already have Vuelo Semilla’s adapted harness, allowing people with physical or sensory disabilities, as well as older adults, to fly tandem with the highest safety guarantees.
Ten years bringing adapted paragliding across South America
Vuelo Semilla was born in January 2016 in El Bolsón, Argentine Patagonia, from a personal initiative that was soon joined by the pilot team of Parapente Patagonia El Bolsón. That first summer, in partnership with an adapted sports institution, they flew 50 people with different types of disabilities. The experience later spread to most flying sites in Argentina and other South American countries.
In 2018, the project achieved its key piece: a wheeled adapted harness, built and backed by the Argentine Free Flight Federation, which greatly facilitates take-off and landing. That same harness also opened the door to flying with older adults, a group usually excluded from this experience for safety reasons. Today, after ten years of history, most of Argentina’s iconic flying sites already have their own adapted harness.
What changes for flights in Tenerife
With this partnership, Vuelo Semilla / Enminube Parapente adds the adapted harness to its operations in the north of Tenerife and trains its pilot team in adapted flight, applying the same safety standard as the rest of its tandem flights: civil liability and accident insurance, certified equipment, and pilots with a federative license. The service is designed for people with physical or sensory disabilities, for older adults seeking a safe experience, and in general for anyone who needs a flight adapted to their circumstances. For safety reasons, the maximum passenger weight for this service is 80 kg.
All information about the service, prices, and frequently asked questions is available on Enminube’s adapted paragliding page. Anyone who wants to fly, or knows someone who could benefit from this experience, can get in touch with Enminube Parapente to discuss, with no obligation, how to adapt the flight to each situation.
